A Detailed Summary of Each Atlantis Hotel
It can be overwhelming to decide exactly where to stay, so I want to share my experience and expertise to help make the best decision on where to stay in Atlantis.
The Coral
Pros:
- Most affordable
- Recently updated hotel lobby and guest rooms
- Quieter pool
- Easy walk to the marina
- Large and hospitable lobby
- family-friendly ambiance of the Coral
- relaxed atmosphere
Cons:
- Older and showing some wear & tear
- Further walk to the waterpark
- Beach access is a little bit of a walk
- Rooms are hotel style vs condo options
The Coral Tower at Atlantis is an excellent option for guests who don’t want to break the bank or prefer staying away from the crowds at the waterpark and casino. I recently visited Atlantis Resort and enjoyed our stay at the Coral. If you want to visit the Atlantis Bahamas Resort, this is a good option without spending a lot of money.
I loved the quick access to the pool area next to the Coral. It was never as packed as the pools surrounding the Aquaventure Water park—plenty of chairs, a water bottle filler, and a towel stand close by. You are also close to the marine habitat outside the rear of the hotel. Atlantis Beach is the nearest beach access for guests.

Inside the hotel, the lobby is large and welcoming. I loved the common areas with comfortable seating and abundant board games for guests. There’s a quick bites service counter to pick up light breakfast and lunch items. In the afternoon, it was a popular destination for ice cream. Off to the side, guests can enjoy a small bar.
The Coral’s location is ideal if you enjoy dining at Marina Village, as there’s an underground walkway with a Starbucks. On the flip side, it is a bit of a walk to the waterpark, beach, and major pools.
Tip: ask for a room with ocean views!

When travelers think of the Atlantis Resort, they think of the iconic Royal Towers and water slides. The Royal is home to these magnificent towers and sits at the heart of the resort.
You can easily access the main casino floor and water park at the Royal. If you enjoy staying in the heart of activity, this is the place for you! I found it to be packed with people everywhere, including tourists from the cruise ships.

The Reef
Pros:
- Wide range of room options from a studio to two-bedroom condos
- Many rooms have full kitchens
- Some rooms have washing machines & dryers
- Spacious rooms
- Perfect for families
Cons:
- It is more expensive than other rooms on the property
- Some guests complain the rooms are dated
- A little bit of a walk to the water park
The Reef at Atlantis Resort is the ideal choice for guests traveling with families or larger parties. Smaller rooms include a studio with a kitchenette. For those who desire or need more space, you can choose between a one—or two-bedroom suite with a pull-out couch.
Reef guests can retreat to the private Paradise Beach, enjoy the waterpark, or plan an outing to Dolphin Cay.
As a side note, the Reef is tucked away from most major attractions. Some guests would love the quiet atmosphere, but if you want to be in the casino each night, you should stay at the Royal. The Reef is a true retreat from the hustle and bustle with direct pool and beach access. You can catch the shuttle service to all major hotels and the marina from the Reef.

The Cove

Pros:
- Stunning pool & hotel property
- Luxury suites
- Close access to two private Cove beaches
Cons:
- Expensive
- Like other resort properties, some guests view the hotel as slightly dated considering the price point
The Cove is a premier destination within the resort. As for the Cove’s location, guests can choose between two private beaches: Paradise and Cove Beach. Guests also have access to a magnificent beach, a quiet retreat from the water park and its crowds. Of all the Atlantis hotels, the Cove and Reef are the most exclusive.
The Cove pool is adults only and offers cabanas for rent and outdoor gaming. It is one of the most beautiful pools on the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, and an afternoon here will be one of your most unforgettable experiences.

Harborside Resort
Harborside Resort is a quick walk to the shops & restaurants at the Marina
Pros:
- Easy access to the Marina
- Proximity to restaurants and shops
- Vibrant Caribbean colors
- One, two, or three-bedroom villas
- Kitchens and laundry facilities
- perfect for families
Cons:
- Furthest property from the beach and waterpark
- Some guests complaints about outdated bathrooms and broken amenities like washers/dryers or even AC
The reviews on Harborside are pretty mixed, to be honest. So, let’s start with the perks! Harborside is ideal for families who desire space and the ability to make their meals and do laundry. Since Atlantis is pricy, having the comforts of home is a terrific way to save money. Fine and casual dining are just a quick walk away!
On the other hand, it is far from the resort’s most popular amenities like the marine exhibit, white sand beaches, and water park. You can walk or rely on the shuttle. Reviews express frustration over the price point and the state of the rooms. It appears that some updates occurred while others are in serious need. I found this to be true of the Coral as well.
Despite the downsides, Harborside is the perfect home base for your next family vacation.
