Since we are a family of 5, I book larger or suite-style rooms. It is also ideal if the hotel option comes with a complimentary breakfast or mini kitchen so we can save some money on breakfast. The Residence Inn offers guests complimentary breakfast and a full kitchen!
Some guests complain that the rooms directly on the road are louder, so if you or your kids are light sleepers, ask for a room away from the road.
The Residence Inn is your place if you want the best bang for your buck! With a complimentary breakfast, a kitchen to prepare other meals, a downtown location, and a pool, you can’t beat the Residence Inn.

We stayed here with the kids a few years ago for a summer trip with the grandparents and loved it! In particular, the hotel has a large yard next to its patio. We could catch up with the grandparents while the kids played! I would bring soccer balls or toys to use outside.

My husband and I stayed here recently and found the hotel a perfect destination. We were close to the new development Camperdown, a popular spot with restaurants like Camp and Jeni’s Ice Cream for the kids. We were also a short walk from Falls Park.
I want to share that we had a very positive experience with the front desk. The clerk was cheerful and extremely helpful! This property’s amenities, such as the pool and free breakfast, make it a terrific choice for families.

This downtown hotel has 1920’s decor, which sets it apart from other hotels in the area.
Side note: Most rooms are kings, so they are ideal for smaller families or those traveling with babies or toddlers. As a family of five, this wouldn’t work for us. Some king rooms do come with a sofa bed.

The hotel’s great location allows guests to easily walk downtown for meals, shopping, or ice cream. At the same time, it’s a beautiful retreat from the crowds if visiting on a busy weekend or during the summer season.
The property is stunning, but the location is really the prize for a family. You can easily use the park for your kids to burn off energy. This hotel caters more to adult guests, so if you are traveling with several kids or they are a bit more rambunctious, I may stay elsewhere.
As a side note, some guests complain of the hotel’s signature fragrance. If you are prone to allergies or sensitive to intense fragrance, I would NOT stay here.
